Frequently asked questions

Which javelin weight do I need?

It depends on your age group and category. Senior men throw an 800g javelin and senior women a 600g; youth and masters divisions use lighter implements. Always confirm with your federation or school rules, or call us and a thrower will help you choose.

Are your implements competition approved?

Yes. Every competition-grade implement we sell is built to World Athletics specifications, and we test in-house so there are no surprises on meet day.

What is the difference between competition and training javelins?

Training javelins are durable, affordable implements for daily practice and can still be used in meets. Competition javelins use stiffer, aircraft-grade aluminum that is hardened for more distance and fewer bent tails. Most high school throwers do best with the 4Throws Competition Javelin; advanced throwers step up to the Elite.

How fast do you ship?

Orders ship within one business day. Carriers don't pick up on weekends, so weekend orders ship Monday. Heads up: carriers add an oversize fee for anything over 100 inches, which includes 800g javelins.

What is your return policy?

Returns must be received within 30 days of delivery, in new condition and in the original packaging. Email support@4throws.com with your order number and photos, and we'll send return instructions. If we shipped the wrong item or it's defective, return shipping is on us.

Do you accept school purchase orders?

Yes. Email support@4throws.com with the items you need, your shipping address and phone number. We'll send a quote for your school's PO, and W-9 forms are available on request.
